About John Wilson

John Wilson, III is on the staff at the 12,000-15,000 member West Angeles Church of God in Christ as the Education and Enrichment Ministry (EEM) Director.  In 1991, he was instrumental in the founding of a youth character, career, and skill development program called Rites of Passage, and it has graduated more than 275 youth since its inception.  In his capacity as Education and Enrichment Director at West Angeles, tutoring, enrichment and supplemental teaching programs in all subjects beginning with math and applied science have been established at West Angeles Church and throughout the community.

West Angeles Church, in conjunction with their partner "The Princeton Review TM", also offers low-cost SAT preparation and high school course requirement informational seminars to assist youth and their parents with all phases of the college admission process. This includes initial college identification, college affordability, and final college selection. The West Angeles Church EEM program also offers college tours to allow potential students and their parents the opportunity to economically tour various campuses and thoroughly investigate all affordable options for their child's college education. In addition, this program provides support for students even during college. After all, sometimes the first examination session is more difficult than the process of admission to the educational institution itself. The representatives of this project, together with the best custom writing service https://bestwritingservice.com/, provided solutions to the most common problems with writing articles, research papers, essays, passing tests. They are ready to solve any question that may arise from students of elementary courses.

On a personal note, John is the father of two daughters and a son. His oldest daughter recently graduated from The George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, DC, and the other two are in college.

John Wilson, a 1980 graduate of GWU, was born and raised in Washington DC where he graduated from the well-known St. John DeMatha Catholic High School. He graduated from GWU as a major in Electrical Engineering in May 1980 and moved to California to work for Hughes Aircraft Company that summer, beginning a nearly 20-year career in the aerospace industry. John moved to community enrichment full time when his eldest daughter graduated from school and partners began to fund his work with the church and surrounding community.

With the vision and support of his Pastor, Bishop Charles E. Blake and the church, the program expanded from a modest after-school math program to one that now serves 400+ mostly non-member youth from more than 45 middle schools and high schools across the Los Angeles area -- most being non-member families -- with mentoring programs, after school, summer enrichment programs, college admissions prep, college counseling and many other enrichment offerings.  The college prep program has assisted and provided independent counseling for more than 550 youth in to affordably attend college where many would not have done so.  .

In addition to teaching and tutoring math to youth, John has also coached math teachers from across the LA County, served on educational boards throughout the community, and consulted for charter schools desiring successful and strong math programs for youth.
